Edelbrock 1406, throttle cable bracket? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm putting an Edelbrock 1406 carb on my 402, and I'm looking for suggestions on what to use for a throttle cable bracket. I have the Lokar chrome bracket, but it looks like it will interfere with the carb/adapter stud in that corner. Ideas?

I have a similar carb, w the lokar cable, kickdown and bracket. Cannot remember the #'s, but the bracket uses the stud in the DS rear of the carb and has a set screw to keep it from moving. I'll go outside and get a pic if you like.

That sounds like the kit I have. Stock intake or Edelbrock? I've got to use the spread to square bore adapter, which means both holes in the corner of the carb are used.

Mine is a edelbrock performer rmp. Not sure if the 2 holes being occupied will change anything. I had a few questions about the setup and lokar answered them well. Might be worth giving them a call.

72 blue, I will be using a similar setup. Granted, it will be a long time before I get there, I'd like so see some pics of your setup whenever you have a chance to snap a few.

I can't help you with your question but wanted to tell you I have an Edelbrock 1406 on my 396 ( I bought the truck that way) and it works great. I've had the truck since 2001 and haven't had any carb problems .

I think I forgot how the adapter plate works. The stud to the intake will be flush on top, correct? That means the lokar throttle cable adapter should work OK.

I just have the throttle cable bracket that was original with the motor and it works fine. I have the edelbrock performer and 1406 edelbrock carb
