At the Track
I got to the local dirt track Saturday night, started making my way to the sign in and draw for starting positions. I usually have to make 5-6 stops to chat on the way up. I look up and see a familiar form. Its one of our trucks with a racecar behind it and its in a buddies spot. Curiosity peaked, I head over to see about the new addition. It was that red/orange color with a white roof, it was kinda "patina-ed" so not THAT impressive (yet). The I started getting closer, and talking to the guy. It's a 72 c-10 custom completely original (except for the gas tank/cap) I started looking a little closer, AC, Tilt, 350/350, Original bench seat with NO tears, Original dash pad...not a crack in it, Rockers are solid, corners are solid, it even had the original cardboard in the glove box. The only thing missing was door moulding off the Pass door, and the tail-gate. Holy crap this thing is great!!! Just being rude I asked him how much he gave for it...$1700.00!!!! I told him he stole that one and owed that guy an apology. I'd trade my '05 F-150 for it right now (even if I didn't owe a bundle on it). I know...useless without Pics but I didn't have a camera, maybe next week. Oh...he bought it for his 16 Year old son, but odds are the son will end up driving the '05 GMC and Rick will keep the '72 for himself.
