Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

If you run full length headers with 2-1/2" drop spindles you'll have 5" of clearance to the collector with 28" tires. Much lower and you'll have problems! (experience)

Either way you go, it's a lot of stuff involved. If you bag it you can always go back to coils.

If you static drop with springs and spindles you will wish you had bagged it within a few months.

From the standpoint of useability/tuneability... bags cant be beat. Ive had both and Ill never use springs again.

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

I used a piece of 4" pipe cut in half and a flat plate to box the frame in my C notch I also cupped the LCA's which is what gave it a great stance

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

I have bags in the rear only. And think it is the best. Rides nice and I can haul stuff. My Dad has springs in the rear and can have much of a load.

Go bags at least in the rear.

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

Mine is static 2.5/4.0. If I could do it over, I'd make the front 3.5 and the rear 5.0. If money ever becomes as common as grandkids, I'd go with bags on the rear, with the 3.5 on the front. As it is, I can haul a load if I need to....I just don't want to.

i've seen more than a few baggers on the pavement with line and or bag failure not one like that with springs// if the bags fail the tow truck guys just drag it up on the rollback on the rocker panels there aint much left when they're done

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

The breaking point depends on use.I won`t notch a frame.I`d go to 6" with springs and must be careful with bottoming, very little hauling with that.%,ok with not so much load.4",you`re fine. Many peoiple are just fine with thioer springs and are happy about the money saved.I`m switching to bags, eventually because my truck will haul and tow. That is the only reasons for bags for my uses. It`s definately a thing to consider that bags add a ptential for break down.Just like air shocks back in the day.I`d never rely on them like most did to clear L60s.i`d get the springs right and use air shocks to load the suspension or air down for ride. You blow, you can`t go.Springs you put in and forget about them.

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

And if you put functional bumpstops under it along WITH the bags you can still drive it if you lose pressure.

Never seen one stranded that used bump stops.

Re: bags or lowering springs ?????

It's an Airbagit.com kit...I have no personal experience with them. I can't knock what I don't know. I have seen some mixed reviews on this forum. I would investigate more. Or, go with the flow. Airride kits, ECE parts, Suicidedoors kits. Look at what the majority does. That's my approach. JMO
