my build.
I just got my truck into a shop yesterday so i can finally tear into her.
All i got done yesterday was gut the majority of the inside and took out the buckets for a perfect bench... gas tanks out, Ac is out, whole dash taken apart. im trading the buckets for a perfect steering wheel. im excited about that. I dont have pics as of yet but ill be getting in the next few days. Anyone want a behind the seat gas tank in real good shape? i don't plan to reuse it. No leaks or bad rust or anything. comes with sending unit. Comes with everything but the gas cap. |

Re: my build.
lol for about two months... sorry then its back to Michigan.
i need to bum the card reader from a friend to load them off my memory card. Today we spent all day trying to get it fired back up... its being a pain now im trying a whole new distributor. For my doors i decided today im shaving but going mechanical. My roomate has an old old LTD and today he spent 6 bucks at home depot and about 4 hours and made an awesome cable release. For poppers he used hood spring from a new SAAB. it turned out to be awesome. i plan to do the same putting the cable in the wheel wells unless i find a decently price electric. |

Re: my build.
More pic are coming tonight
But yesterday got her running and driving no more having to push it. Which is good because some jack-a$$ yesterday pushed it so the front drivers wheel was wedged between a curb and stairs i was sure they had broken something... thankfully not. Hopefully it doesn't happen again or ill be very angry. We made it so only i can drive it they can only push it because were still unsure about brakes. We only reversed like ten feet and pulled back forward. I also worked on shaving the side markers. I need to dress the welds and then kitty hair over it then do the other side to. I also shaved the hood emblems welded those holes and filler over it. I decided on for now some mechanical shaved door handles. Cable operated. We just finished a 72? LTD using cable and hood spring. works AWESOME! we used hood spring off a SAAB. so thats my plan for now then electrical later on. I also traded my bucket seats for a new steering wheel. I need to pull my dash out so i can weld everything up.Ill do that hopefully later this week. |

Re: my build.
Alright got plenty of pictures today. Got my grill off welded up my anntena whole and shaved the drivers side side marker. Found a ton of filler in that fender but no real cancer... Now passenger side is a diffrent story... the front lower part is gone. Literally. filer was caked in so it looked fine... lol but it wasnt.
Also when i went out to pull it in my truck looked like it was on it period leaking tranny fluid every were. Found out it was from were the dip stick goes in. gonna try to get that fixed today so i can start driving it. So heres the pics. Dash taken apart- No grill- passenger fender- drivers- |

Re: my build.
So goal today
-fix tranny leak -Finish stripping drivers fender-pull dents- wipe with filler and block. Maybe i can get that fender done today. I decided im not even gonna mess with that bed and buy a new one. Its pretty jacked up and will blow alot of money on studs and filler... So. ill wait i suppose im going junk yarding this weekend to look for a ford Taurus fan as well as a bed and mirrors... Plus anything else ill run into. |

The whole trucks stripped. The drivers cab corner is fully welded in. The inner rockers are on order. The outer rockers already arrived. The helper springs are gone. The exhaust is gone. The drivers door is off and being worked on. All rust is fixed not doing body work. All whole have been welded and dressed. Todays all about filler work.. GRR. |

Re: my build.
All four wheels are painted now. I really am happy with the look. I welded up some more wholes yesterday and today will hopefully have all the wholes in the entire truck welded. Im just waiting on some inner rockers and the front fender tip to come in. Then i should have body work done shortly.
The roof is completely done and the hood almost is. All thats left is the front were they dented it. Thankfully what the school paid me for that is covering all my materials so far. The driverside rear cab is almost done. the bottom half and cab corner is just not above the body line. I havent completely decided to bag the rear or just drop it. If i decide soon ill build 2 inch blocks to help lower it. I love my bench seat... Its so nice to take a brake pop a squat on in and relax. Im having my roomates girlfreind make me a cover for it our of these mexican blankets i bought on a vacation we took... there real neat blankets. We bought them at an indian trading post. We got to watch the guy make part od a blanket but it was taking awhile we werent staying for the whole thing. I have 19 days to get the body work done and painted. I dont think it will happen. Im trying hard tho. its just tricky with only me working on it. If i complete the body work and prime it in 18 days and have it blocked then the 19th day im painting it flat black with john deere blitz black. Hopefully ill have it ready by then.. if not ill be painting it rattle can flat black or a 2k primer with black tints. Which i dont want to do either of thoose... |

Re: my build.
No pictures due to misplacing my sd card reader...
Got the rear suspension completely stripped out. ready for the bags. im going with the airlift dominator 2600. tanks been ordered as well. i wont have it here till late next week then im off school for a week. so 3 weeks before i can even put it in.. But that gives me time to tackle a good chunk of body work and getting the shifter to work right and the carb tuned. |

Re: my build.
The bags are in the line and fittings are ordered.
I put the fenders doors and hood back on the truck and its all lined up! woot. I need a new hood latch or well at least the spring... mine got messed up when they hit it with the dually. A piece of pipe sticking out of the other truck hit the spring and stretched it way way out... Its all in black primer besides the drivers side door. Im going to buy a new SD card reader today or tomorrow so i can finally get some pics up. |

Got it running again yesterday! Its loud with open headers .
Then speedo cable was leaking of the tranny but i believe i got that all fixed. ill find oout today. Also got the drivers rocker almost completely welded in.. The passenger door is back on. Im kind of mad.. The 90* fittings were sold out at suicide doors well instead of them letting me know i waited and waited and finally sent an email askin what the heck was up... So who knows when ill get that. GRR |
