55/59 Steering Column Question?
I have two Steering Columns one is 33 5/8 from the gear box to the top of outer housing. The other is 37 7/8 from the gear box to the top of outer housing.
WHAT THE HAY ? Anyone know? |

I can measure my stock 59 column when I get home this evening, if that is the question you are asking.

my 1957 1/2 ton column length is 33 5/8. dont know for sure but longer one could be from larger truck like 2 ton.just a thought.

My 59 1/2 ton is 33 5/8 too.

Early Models had a flat steering wheel i.e. 55-56 and 57-59 had a dish steering wheel that is why lenght difference. I cut down a 55 to use on a 59 once all I did was after welding I sleeved it and welded for safety
