Unhappy battery prob/won't start

Hi, I discovered that the neg post is extremely hot. Why? The cable is grounded to frame. Has this to do with a faulty solenoid ? Thanks in advance.
The engine does crank but won't start. confused. Recently installed reman starter/sol combo.

Re: battery prob/won't start

The first problem is a bad connection at the battery post, or the cable may be coroded.
