BBC swap

I have a 454 that I'm going to swap into my '89 stepside. What engine mounts will I need (part # if anyone knows it) and will there be any hood clearance issues with the stock hood and a standard height dual plane intake/carb? Any other input is also appreciated. I used the search function and didn't come up with much. Thanks.

Re: BBC swap

I'd think that the same mounts that were used on a 454 SS pickup would be what you would need. That info should be available through any parts vendors (O'Reilly's, etc.).

Re: BBC swap

To my knowledge the bbc and sbc use the same enging mounts. But I'm not 100% on that.

Re: BBC swap

I have a th400, but the I might use a t56 instead. I really would prefer the overdrive. The truck is currently a 350 5 spd.

Re: BBC swap

mine is a 350 with a th350 tranny and i have a built th400 to go behind the 454 so it should be a pretty easy swap. i just need a speed sensor that will work. i heard of taking the tail shaft off a 700r to the th350 and it will work but i dont really know
