that bottomless pit fall feeling in your tummy

Well today is the day I said enough. I went and picked up my truck from the body shop. It has been there for 4 mths and after begging them to do the work I wanted I just said no more. I went through this with my Nova... then I got it home and busted arse on it to get it done. This will force me to get out there and do it already. It just makes me sick that in the 3 hours I have had it home I already replaced the pass side rocker inner and outter. I figure at this rate I can have the sheet metal done in about a month... then on to the susp and frame.

Long live the DIY attitude.. I mean I already have all the tools, welder, and parts... just do it already the wife said.... so I will.

Peace love and chicken grease!!

Well I know I can do it but I wanted it done by a prof body guy so that of would be done right. He should me able to do of on a fraction of the time it's going to take me. It's all good one more thing I get to put on my resume! LOL.

Sadly I know that feeling. I had a 71 El Camino at a body shop for over 6 months. I finally would show up every Friday with a trailer ready to load up. He would always plead and promise to finish but then always something else got slipped in. It did eventually get done. He did a nice job and I cannot complain on what I was charged, but boy It got OLD FAST! Take your time and have fun doing it yourself.

What shop did you have it at? I've got a buddy that's got a shop in Milton, if interested let me know and I'll PM his info.

A good friend of mine just got his 72 Nova out of the body shop last Friday. It's been there since November. They slipped every insurance job in front of it.

It's an impeccable job, worth the wait I suppose.

glad you brought it home! doing it yourself is always more satisfying!

but... in defense of the shops...insurance work is how a body tech / paintor eats and keeps the lights on you cant make 42 dollars an hour on an resto allover.. that would mean like a 5,000 paint job
