Problem with hub caps

Here is a pic of the truck with the full hup caps. The wheels are 15X8 ralley wheels, the ones that use beauty rings and center caps. The problem is the hubcaps move on the wheels. When I first put them on the valve stem is in the center of the notch for them. After a drive the valve stem is off to one side of the notch and pushed over to the point the valve stems are geting cut by the hub cap. What can be done to keep the hub caps from spining on the wheels?

Re: Problem with hub caps

I dont know what the back of the hubcap or better yet the edge looks like but I would think there is have to be a way which you can bent the tabs to makt it tighter..

Re: Problem with hub caps

I have the same setup on my 71 and do not have that problem. You will need to tighten the tabs on the back of the caps - bend them to fit tighter.

Re: Problem with hub caps

I've taken the old MIG welder and welded some small dots around the inside of the wheel to give the hubcap teeth something to bear against.

Re: Problem with hub caps

Get metal valve stems.Just a band aid,but would be safer.
