Re: TBI engine swap ?
Instead of donig the TBI why don't you do a TPI? They are cheaper and alot more productive than a TBI.

Re: TBI engine swap ?
Thought about it but it was just the fact that i have a 91 gmc complete with a 350 tbi with only 110,000 kms on it sitting here doing nothing that the body has finally got to the point of no return. So I was thinking of just pulling the motor complete with wiring and computor seeing as how I have everything for a swap.-the little things.

Re: TBI engine swap ?
Ok after doing some reading I have noticed that since I have a 4 speed ,borg warner T-10 that in order to drop in a tbi engine I will also have to find a flywheel and pressure plate off a sbc 87-up.Is this true?or can I use the 1 I have off my v-8 I have now? What Idea I have now is maybe just use the tbi motor and convert to carb,I like the 1 piece rear seal idea and center bot heads.I hear that the heads are a bit better as well.anyway all help or info would be great.I have done the carb to tbi swap before for myself in my 88 chev now its the other way around.LOL

Re: TBI engine swap ?
PS. have done a carbed engine to tbi in a newer 88 truck but never taken a tbi engine from 88-up and put in a 67.either convert to carb or leave it tbi.

Re: TBI engine swap ?
I owned a 91 TBI for 4 years and cursed the lack of power and mileage every step of the way. The TBI is a huge choke point. I would suggest pitching the TBI and converting it to carb. I think you will be happier in the long run.

Re: TBI engine swap ?
What problems should I expect if I do the swap?I think because the tbi block has a different flex plate I will have to get a flex plate assembly off a 88-up to go with my t-10 manual right?what about a fuel pump and regulator as the tbi block does not have a fuel pump hole?I have the intake and carb on the engine thats in the truck now and I can ream the 4 center holes.would I be able to keep the serpentine setup?Power steering ect.altenator is the newer style what about the wiring for this?I know i will have the change the water pump as well and use all my sensors.anything else i may have forgotten?thanks.
