Shipping a cab questions ideas??
I am wanting to buy a 1975 crew cab-cab only with doors near Austin Texas and am looking for advise or a way to get it shipped to Wisconsin ideally but have relation in northern Arkansas or Western Iowa and could get there. Any shippers or trucking companies that would do such a job, or anyone here making a trip??

Re: Shipping a cab questions ideas??
I just had an entire suburban shipped from the deserts out west over to the east coast and used this guy. He is a car guy and knows how to take care of vintage tin and not tear it up like some of these companies out there. Super guy, reliable and reasonable rates.

Re: Shipping a cab questions ideas??
one thing I've found is if the vehicle cannot roll; ie is off the chassis, then they charge a good bit more for it.
For example 2 years ago I did a bunch of shipping research: a cab, only a cab from CO to FL would run me around 600-1000. It doesn't roll, and takes up two pallets worth of floor space. if it was a full truck it'd be 600-1000, it'd take up much more floor space, but it would roll(much easier to load and unload) . I can also see the cab by itself susceptible to much more damage than a full vehicle/chassis. Anyways, be prepared for the run around, since it's not on wheels. Might be worth building an inexpensive dolly just for the trip. Also U-ship rocks...
