Question Black Cab Top

My coworker has a '72 Camper Special. He's not driving it right now and I've only had one quick look at it driving by where he keeps it. It is orange with a black cab top. We are both wondering if that's an original color for the cab top. I told him to look at the SPID next chance he gets and see what it says, but I thought I'd also ask here.

Re: Black Cab Top

You could have any color as a secondary color, but they had "recomended" colors schemes.
Obviously white is a common secondary color, I have seen black, green, and a pale yellow as a secondary color, then on here many moons ago a guy had a white truck with a blue secondary color on the roof, and below the lower molding... looked sharp

Re: Black Cab Top

Thanks guys, I'll let him know! I agree, orange/black is a very cool combo and one that you won't see very often.

Re: Black Cab Top

The black top seems to always be with red-orange/hugger.Any black top is an exception. The accent color in the data book for vehicle ordering is white with the only exception being grapefruit/medium olive poly and dark olive poly/medium olive poly iwith either color as accent. But,I guess the black on red-orange was requested enough that it spawned more orders.i`ve only seen just a black top...standard two-tone.We`ve seen a couple other exceptions. So,if there`s no proof on a SPID it`s hard to say.
