LOWERING REAR QUESTION!!!!!!! will this work???

I want to lower my the rear of my truck 5 inches(using drop springs) will i have to notch the frame? I'm going to run a 29x15.5x15 with a 12inch rim on the back of my 71 stepside I've done all the modifcations. Cut the inside bed put wheel tubs in the bed ect... I want the truck to sit about 1 inch over the tires(not above, but the tires sitting 1 inch into the fenderwell) will 5 iches work? if anyone running this type of setup Man that would help me our exspecially with pic I just want to give my truck the prostreet look.
