backspace and tire size ? for 1966

i have a stock suspention 1966 chevy stepside. I have already converted it to 5 lug. Whats the best looking setup for tire and rim. Im looking to saty with 15 inch rims. How wide can i go without having the tire stick out. Also what would be good for the front? I dont want little pizza cutters because its got a 454 and it pretty heavy in the front. So tire size, and backspacing

Are you wanting to go with aftermarket wheels, or stick with factory style?

Im not really sure yet. Im still looking at different setups. I have looked at a ton of pictures on this site and the chevy truck rallys look really good. So i have no cles what i want. i have after market unilug corvette rally rims on it now

Rally wheels are popular, and won't ever go out of style. Since they are steel wheels, they are durable if you drive a lot of bad roads. They come in several widths, so you can stagger them if you like.

My personal preference is a custom wheel in a larger size. I prefer 20's, but 18/20's look great too.

Is the truck lowered or stock height?
If lowered, how much (estimate if necessary)?
You mentioned you're looking for 15" diameter. Do you like staggered widths or want them all the same to allow for rotation?
5-lug disc conversion up front?
5-lug axle swap or was the stock rear-end housing swapped for a later model?

Knowing the answers to all this stuff will help get you more accurate info.

The truck is factory ride hight. It has 5 lugs front and rear from a 72 chevy. And i like the wider rear tire and small front look and i would like to keep the 15''
