Noisy ac compressor at idle
So I just changed the siezed up ac compressor in my work truck, charged it with 3 cans of freon and it gets cold and works like it should. The one problem I am having is at idle it makes a grinding noise? Did I put too much freon in maybe? the compressor has oil? any suggestions?

Re: Noisy ac compressor at idle
Is the compressor rebuilt or new? I had one that sound like that at idle. It worked for a long time before it blew up.

Re: Noisy ac compressor at idle
is it the clutch ( only happens when ac is on) or the bearing (all the time) if its the bearing that compressor is on it s way south too

Re: Noisy ac compressor at idle
Mine does the same thing if the idle rpm drops below 650, growls real bad. Anything above that and it doesn't growl. No idea what is making the noise......It's a reman compressor and blows cold/works fine otherwise.
