np 205 vs np 208

ok i have a th400 with a np 208 behind it will i get lower gearing if i switch to a np 205 or is it just a stronger t case? does any one know the gearing fro a 208 and a 205?

IIRC the 208 has a 2.72-1 low side and the 205 has a 1.96-1 low side

so the 205 would be alot better for truc pulls then if it has a lower 4 low.

No, the 208 has a lower low range gear.

Higher number = Lower gear ratio

the 205 is a stronger case.....but i love my 208 and it hasn't broke on me yet

the only problem i am having with the 208 is it doe not want to stay in 4 low i have it adjusted as far as it will go and it seems like i have to hold in in low when i pull. is there something i can do with it? can i thred the rod more to have the shifter pull it more into 4 low? thanks for all the info.
