need some help

i want to take out my 250 out of my 66 c10 and put in a 350, what will i need to do to make this happen, ie, do i need a new bell housing? clutch? what do i do for mounting the engine and what headers will fit?

You will be able to use the same bellhousing but I would upgrade the clutck to an 11 inch if it isn't already. You can use the same engine mount frame brackets just get motor mounts for truck small block V8 (63-'72) Probably the best bet for headers will be the ones for that year of truck. Some of the newer ones will work but they can be a little tricky to fit around the clutch bellcrank. It kind of depends on your intended useage of the truck. The ones for that year of truck are small tube and far from equal length tubes. The headers for a newer truck can be had in a larger tube diameter and closer to equal length tubes. I can dig up some part numbers for the newer ones if you want to give them a try.

As for the parts you are looking for, take a look in the classifieds here on the board and also check out the board vendors that sell those type of parts. Sometimes new parts are the best way to go.

thank you, im going for loud and looks, dont want to do performance, thats what i have my 72 nova for, i was also wondering, are the pedals adjustable, theyre uncomfortably close to the seat, theres a lever under the dash connected to the pedals, and also what are the usual MPG for the 250 with 4 on the floor

That would be your e-brake lever. Do you have the seat all the way back? sometimes the seat adjusting mechanism is broken or jammed. There's really no easy way to move the pedals. Sorry don't have a clue on the mpg for a 250.

yes the seat is back,are the pedals in normal location, you have to mve your leg back and lift it about 6 inches, this is for the clutch and brake pedals, and thank you for the help

Yes you do have to lift your foot a bit to get to the pedals. This is likely to be a little more noticeable if you are tall and/or have long legs. Driving these trucks isn't like driving a car.

ya, i had a 64 and the pedals werent this bad tho, so idk

You might check and see if the rubber bumoers for the pedals are there. If they're gone the pedals will sit higher from the floor.

its not so much the height i care about, its how close they are to the seat, only about 7 inches

If your pedals are only 7 inches from the seat, there is something seriously wrong there. Is the seat original? Are you positive it is all the way back against the rear of the cab?

Some pics might be the best way to figure this out. Take a pic of where the pedals are under the steering column, a pic of the seat, and a pic standing on the ground looking in the drivers side of the cab.
