Found these under my seat - what are they for?

I took the seat and gas tank out of my truck to do a little cleaning and found this spring and bracket under the seat. Does anyone know what they are for?

Re: Found these under my seat - what are they for?

That's what I thought at first but my jack is held in by a spring in the passenger cab corner, unless my jack is in the wrong place. Hmmm.....

What about the fold-up rod/crank that operates the jack?!

That seems reasonable but how does it all go together I wonder?

Re: Found these under my seat - what are they for?

I have a 72, not a 67, but my crank/rod and tire iron were in a bag next to the jack in the passenger cab corner

It’s for the jack handle and wrench but it looks like your missing a bracket see picture below.

Bingo!
It looks like it all wasn`t put back in when that carpet was added. Was there a bracket on the one tank mount bolt?

Re: Found these under my seat - what are they for?

Thanks for the pic, Bruce88! That about solves it. All of my tank mounts are the same, no bracket. No telling where it went. Probably went to the same place the SPID went when the PO decided to do a craptastic blue paint job. Grrrrr......

I would say maybe your cab came from a 1 ton truck or something....
