GEN III Gauge Questions

I'm looking at buying some autometer gauges that are used with no sending units for cheap. I am wondering if the sending units for the stock gauges will work and i can just hook them right up.

Re: GEN III Gauge Questions

On the LS swaps I have done and seen, most have used sending units for the gauges, it is alot easier than trying to run it from the PCM.
The sending units can be bought seperately, if you need help let me know.

BUT, just thinking....we would need to know the resistance that the AM gauges are expecting to read correctly and the PCM might not put out the same reference, which is probably why people do not use the PCM to run the aftermarket gauges.

The Speedo and tach would be the easiest to run out of the PCM with the VSS and Tach leads are easier to work with.
