Re: how to take out headlight switch

There is a release button on top of the headlight switch (behind the dash and on the flat part of the switch), pull out the switch lever till it stops, push down the button, then it should come right out.

Re: how to take out headlight switch

Disconnect your battery, or the headlights will turn on & stay on... or unplug the connector from the switch.

Re: how to take out headlight switch

Pull the knob out like your turning on the lights, then press the button and pull the rest of the way. It'll come out easier this way.

Re: how to take out headlight switch

You have to pull out the headlight switch all the way and then reach up behind the dash and try and get your poor fingers on the little button and press down really hard. Push and pull the shaft a little while trying to hold it down. Thank God for this forum as I was so frustrated when I did it I almost got the vise grips on it to pull it out. Luckily, I searched and found some help here.

I was glad I did take the panel off since all but 2 light bulbs were burnt out. Replaced them all with brand new 194 bulbs. What a difference.

Good luck!!
