67 doors

Gentlemen,

On my 67 Chevy doors(p/u) I have noticed small cracks on each door right in the middle of the roll down glass. Both inside and out. It seems to be a weak spot. Has anyone else noticed this problem??? If so , what is the fix short of removing the doors and replacing the skin. I noticed the problem when I replaced the rubbers with chrome bead on both sides. All help is greatly appreciated!!!

Re: 67 doors

Usualy the problem is the little reinforcing strap just behind where the division bar slides into the door. The welds either brake there of the strap cracks in half. When it does that the upper part of the skin has lost it's strength. Weld the strap back together and weld the cracks and you should be good to go for several years. WES

Re: 67 doors

The bad thing about it is, with the window down I can grab both sides and completely squeeze the inside and outside together. I is very weak there!!!
