power windows, motors and regulators

Got a quick question for all ya'll that have power windows and had to work on them. My windows are REAL slow. Is it USUALLY the motor or the regulator that i would need to replace to get them quick again? Thanks!

I have the same problem but for me, when I am going to get in there. I am going to lube everything up first. its a lot cheaper then just buying parts just to find out the tracks are dry.

Re: power windows, motors and regulators

usually its the motor but you should lube as was suggested first as sometimes its just the glass binding in the tracks

Re: power windows, motors and regulators

if the new parts doesn't work then I would check how many volts the motors get, it might have a short

Re: power windows, motors and regulators

First thing.......buy some silicone spray and spray the heck out of the tracks, dont hold back.....pull the rubber apart and spray the tracks down inside the window too......I did that on my Montana and it made a huge difference

Re: power windows, motors and regulators

I tried silicone spray on my window runs, it worked for about a week. I had to replace my window motor, it just died. If the window run in the truck is original it's probrably time to replace them. They get hard and cracked over time and causes the windows to bind it the track. I got my motors from Brothers.
