Unhappy Service Manual and Wiring

Greetings. We just received a 72' C-10. I want to find a service manual. We did find one offered on a cd. Does anyone have a good source for a manual? Printed or electronic ok.
Next we will need to address some wiring issues. Seems the previous owner dealt with problems by running a new wire. You know the kind, with a minimum of 3 butt splices over 10-inches of wire! Kinda thinking a new harness may be in order, or easier to deal with. Any ideas for a source?
Thanks
Victor
