1999 Suburban Bad Acceleration

My 1999 Suburban has been running really badly lately. Changed distributor cap, fuel filter and did the typical maintenance. But, when i floor it off the line it will hold 1st gear at about 4500rpm until i let off of it, then it will shift into second. And, getting to 4500rpm is doggishly slow. It seems to sputter and almost miss. but when i only feather the pedal, it runs great and shifts well. any idea of my problem?

Re: 1999 Suburban Bad Acceleration

Have you checked fuel pressure? i think the spec is 60-66 psi. check engine light? A plugged catalytic conveter may also cause this problem.
