flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
Hey all I have done some searching without any luck. I am curious about flush mounting a windshield in my truck. I have seen a photo of it done before but was curious on what could be found or if anybody has done this.
Thanks Dave

I have thought about this also. I just wonder if the glass is big enough to fill the opening & what to use to hide the area where it would urethane in ? Any solutions would help me also.

Re: flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
James, I believe the glass is smaller than the opening. It actually sits inside the rubber. I have a hard time getting mine to seal up very good. One option seems to be weld in a larger channel but I am not sure from there as far as getting something around the glass to make it look right...

If you get your window frame smaller than your original windshield you can get a black urethane primer to create a black border much like you see on newer cars except with out the small dots on the outer edge. This black border will hide the urethane glue used to place the window. This primer comes in small cans that look like a 5hour energy bottle and have a applicator that allows you to paint a consistent border around the window. I saw a window installer use it on a land-cruiser I believe.

My window installer did this to my 71, Looked terrible. Looked like a mistake. I pulled it out and enlisted a body man to help me get it done right. I would not recommend this.

Re: flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
it looks like a hybrid of a 88-98 chevy and a 67-68 chevy.....i like the flush mounted windshield (from the little bit i can see), but dont think the 'square-ish' wheel openings look good, nor do i like the side view mirror........ but it is a good looking truck, that id drive

Re: flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
I am going to bring this back up to the top.
There doesn't seem to be any kits around for the 67-72 truck to do this. I found one for the rear and then the 73 body style but not for me... I have given this some thought but wanted to see if anybody has any other thoughts on the process.

Re: flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
I know this is a really old thread but when I started looking for a flush mount windshield this is what came up; and it didn't seem to have a good ending. If anyone is still looking this may be of interest:

Re: flush mount windshield 1967-1972 ?
I have to ask one question..."Why?". I look at that black shortbed and it's a really nice truck. Personally don't care for the change and feel the overall truck would look just as nice (better to me) with none of all that effort. Modern Chevy trucks are nice. If I wanted what they have I would buy one and keep enjoying my classic that so many love because they were done right so long ago.

Just like the trucks getting the Diesel engine and Allison Transmission. If some one wouldn't have tried it back in the day it wouldn't have ever happen!
