Re: Dirt in My RADIATOR...
hmm..... well the only way i can think of dirt finding its way into the cooling system of a vehicle is Sabatooge! (forgive spelling) as in a person did it.
One other way would be you went mudding the truck may have got stuck wich led to overheating, the overflow tube was dragging in the mud and as the system cooled down it sucked muddy water back through the radiator due to the vacume of the displaced coolant . a little detail on the truck would help. But if it were my guess i would say your water pump may be deteriorating, gasket particles, possibly some old raidiator repair junk freed up, or just very fine rust particles.

Re: Dirt in My RADIATOR...
it has a 350sb with a th350 tranny. it has 2 electric fans on the radiator. the over flow for the radiator was not on it when i got it but i have replaced it. i do know that the PO was in the process of converting in to a mud bogger.

Re: Dirt in My RADIATOR...
I have seen radiators with coffee in them. You read that right coffee! It was one of those "at home quick fixes" for leaks. My wife's 01 Jeep had that when we got it. I was amazed to see that people still do that sort of thing. I did about 4 good full flushes and got most of it. But then the water pump impellers had rotted away and the radiator started to leak. So, now all that is new and it seems to be good.

Re: Dirt in My RADIATOR...
I doubt its actually dirt, probably rust of some sort. I have the same thing in mine. It's somewhere on the passenger side of the motor, probably in the head, but I don't really worry too much about it. A good couple system flushes should set you.
