Project "Explorer"
Well been a member for awhile and finally started a project. Bought a 71 3/4 4x4 last night. Already have a 70 2wd swb, and a 70 swb 4x4 frame. It's going to be a Mudder/Rock crawler. I think I'm going to put the drivetrain out of the 71 to the 70 4x4 frame. The body isn't that great on the 71 but my 70 body is awesome shape. Just dont think I want to use the good body for my off road only truck. Going to use the core support and grill from the 70 because the grill is from a 71-72. Going to try to find some fenders and replace the rockers. Floor looks good and I'm going to make it a flat bed with the 71 bed floor. Have to figure out how to resize the pics and then I will post some.

Re: Project "Explorer"
Yeah I thought it was a GMC when I called on it but he said it was a chevy. It came off about an hour off the trailer. He said it was a labor of love LOL.

Re: Project "Explorer"
Here's a update: Sanded and painted the frame with some bedliner. Started a second coat with some under coating spray. Hopefully it will be nice out tomorrow so i can spray the rest of the frame. Then I will start swapping drivetrain.
