Re: What is your engine setup?

You guys realy have some nice modified engines.

I have a bone stock 350 in my '71 C-10 lwb stepper and a bone stock 250 in my '67 swb stepper.

What would I change, I guess clean them up and paint them original colors.

Re: What is your engine setup?

Another stock 350 here with a Q-jet sitting on an Edelbrock 2101 (stock intake cracked).

About the only things I wish I had done differently would be spend the extra $$ for a 383, and figure out why the vacuum is so low (maybe brake booster?) so I could use my big cam and still have it start & idle when cold.

Re: What is your engine setup?

'88 TBI 454 from a C3500. Stock rebuild aside from the Edelbrock Performer intake, Doug's headers and cam upgrade. Stock computer and everything transplanted into a 1970 Suburban. I'm hoping to fire it up for the first time here in a few weeks. Nothing super spectacular, but I'm looking for 450+ ftlbs of torque down low in the rev range to move the heavy thing (wish I had the moolah for some 60499 heads).

The other is a .030 over 350 w/ Edelbrock aluminum intake, q-jet, RV cam, HEI, Doug's headers and 2.5" dual exhaust w/ Flowmasters. I like it because its loud.

Re: What is your engine setup?

Mine is supposedly a 300hp 350 from a camaro, running the numbers does seem to support this, truck had a six in it when it left the factory. I'm pretty sure the cam isn't stock, but I don't know what it is, stock intake with a newish Carter AFB four barrel, carter electric fuel pump to match K&N, and a Mallory twin point dizzy. The dizzy and manifold are going to be replaced with an Performer EPS and a stock (used) HEI again from a camaro that I have sitting in the garage waiting to go on. Ramshorns and 2 1/4" duals finishing in front of the rear wheels.

The guys from a local garage that specialises in US trucks and a friend who drag races a 9 second camaro reckon it is pretty quick for a big lump of a truck. I'm hoping the manifold and HEI will perk it up a bit along with a good tune up.

Still want to pull it one day, find out whats in it and give it a coat of paintas its pretty scruffy.

Re: What is your engine setup?

Original '69 350 with correct identification (supposedly rebuilt at some point), with at least 200K miles on it. RV cam, Hooker headers, Edelbrock 2101 intake with Edelbrock Q-Jet and an Accel HEI replacement distributor. Oh, it has "some" oil leakage and "a little" blow-by. But, it still ran great until it was pulled out in September!

What would I like to have in its place? I think a Tri-Power 421 Pontiac would be nice.

Re: What is your engine setup?

'68 327 + 0.030 over with Keith Black 10:1 hyperneutic pistons, Comp Cam XE280 cam + valve train sitting on factory Vortec heads, Edlebrock Performer intake with a self tuned Q Jet. Flotech headers and Flowmasters. Tremec TKO 600 5 speed with 3.42 posi out back.
The what I would change is what I just completed, cam change from XE252 to XE280 and tranny swap from T-5 to TKO. LOVE IT! Daily driver
Step on the loud pedal and listen to the eagles scream . . .

496 - 4 bolt main, forged everything, roller everything, msd everything, balanced everything, 850 holley dp, massive lift roller cam (over 600 adv.), performer rpm heads, air gap intake, large tube headers, hooked up to a TKO 600 tranny.
the one thing I may change is add at least a 200 shot of nitrous to get this baby over 800hp...
