Going Topless

Hey everyone, Just wanted to post this listing for the top off of a 70 blazer. My brother bought the K5 last week and has decided to go topless or with a soft top. Here is the the link:

Re: Going Topless

Well, I guess this thread will be just as good as any to start for this project build. I will be helping my brother out as he builds his new 70 K5 Blazer.

Here are some pics of the Blazer when it was out at my buddys house. He bought the blazer to turn into a rock crawler. He has too many projects going on and my brother decided to buy it from him.

I am not sure. I know that the 3 speed column shift was a common among these trucks. I have a 67 Fleetside LWB truck that has it and my dad parted out a 68 SWB stepside that had one as well.

I have never had any problems with my 3 on the tree, but they have been known to have problems with the linkage from the column to the trans. They can tend to bind up and get stuck. Once that happens, you just about have to get out of the truck and free it up.

I am trying to talk my brother into installing a floor mount shifter to simplify the setup. Besides, he already has a hole in the floor where the transfer stick comes through, should be an easy modification.
