Re: Biggest notch I can get???

you could always raise the bed floor and build some spacers so that you dont have to have the whole in the center of the floor. i have done this on some minitrucks we build at our shop. as far as the size of notch without cutting the bed floor im not sure. best bet would probably be to just measure yours so that you know for sure it will fit. if i had a c10 in the shop i could measure for ya. we got an 88-98 here but not sure if its the same distance to bed floor or not. wish i could help ya more. good luck with the build let us know how your notch turns out man. if i can help ya with notch designs in any way let me know.

Re: Biggest notch I can get???

Your not going to like the answer. I have posted below the biggest notch you can use and not cut your bed. This will put the pumpkin less than 1" from the bed floor.

As dough_boy suggested, your going to need to raise the bed floor, cut a hole, or run a smaller tire/wheel combo.

8" pipe and a bit of boxing plate cleans things right up. That's my buddy Roger's work on my 77 Cheyenne.

You want to lay out and not cut the bed, on 22's?

Don't take this the wrong way, but good luck...

Re: Biggest notch I can get???

my honest opinion is to go with a thicker side wall. this offers a better ride over the low pros most people are running. but yea if you still are not wantin to cut your bed floor or raise it i would go with the mini notch as mentioned above man. if i can be of any help let me know man im always willing to help a fellow enthusiest out.

Re: Biggest notch I can get???

This is as low as you can get and not cut your bed. You might get 3/4" lower but it won't roll if you do.

Re: Biggest notch I can get???

N2Trux, the stance of yours is pretty similar to what Ill be running, would you be able to give me a distance from the ground to the lower front corner of the rear fender , and whats the diameter of your wheel/tyre combo ?
thanks

He listed his wheel and tire combo in post #14. It is a great stance. Another wonderful truck that is just so pretty in all its trim.

Re: Biggest notch I can get???

when my truck was almost lowered 9" in the rear there was about 1" of clearance with the c-notch the rear end pumpkin was a bout a inch from the bottom of the bed and the drive shaft rubbed the cross supports and if it was bagged it wouldn't been much lower

Ken's rear tire on his black truck is about 29.5" tall, if you run a 22" rim, with his same drop, you will tuck about 1" more rim. You would need to run a 265/35/22 tire to be about 29.3" tall or a 285/35/22 tire to be about 29.9" tall.

I beleive his has a flip kit with some leaves removed along with a air over leaf bag set up. (although I believe that is getting changed now...)

Thanks for stepping in with some good info. That is correct on my rear set up except I am running a 2" block as well.
