Hatch Handle Help

Well, I finally got to my rear hatch today to see why it won't lock on the catches and stay locked. I tore it all apart and found the left side rod not even attached to the handle.

So I dissasembled everything, bead blasted the parts, painted and started to reassemble.

What I now see, is that there is a clip that the rod goes through it and the handle, and then has the 'c' shape clamp to clamp back on the rod is missing. There is one for the right side, but not for the left.

I looked through all the catalogs today but couldn't find these.

Does anyone know if there is some place that reproduces these?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Hatch Handle Help

You might try the bone yards. It's the same clip that's used inside the older doors to hold the lock rod from falling out. Also the older cars with rod type linkage to the carb. used them. should still be a bunch around.

Re: Hatch Handle Help

You can find them in the help section at most auto parts stores...
