Saturday pics (6-13) A couple trucks and a buncha stuff that made me smile!

Yea yea! I know...I didn't post any pics last Saturday. I'll try to make it up to you by posting some good ones this time around!

Said goodbye to this one last week!

Rolled out the 54 tonight and went to a cruise over in Dalton...spotted a couple of trucks there.

This joker was clean!

Did I mention I was driving the 54? The difference in height becomes quite apparent once a stocker gets beside us!

Have you ever seen the old episodes of Saturday Night Live where Norm Mcdonald is doing the impersonation of Burt Reynolds on the celebrity Jeopardy skit? If you have...this is hilarious. If not...Well I guess it's just going to seem strange.

Re: Saturday pics (6-13) A couple trucks and a buncha stuff that made me smile!

Since I sold the blue pickup I've been looking for an old car. So, I've been talking it up to the local gearheads and beating the bushes to see what turns up. An old guy told me yesterday to go down hwy ** and then turn left at the **** and you'll know the place when you see it. Told me this guy might have something of interest...

Man alive! He should just build a drive-in movie screen in the field and charge admission for folks to sit in the cars and enjoy a movie.

That dude`s got toys!!! Look how happy that dog is.I`d be the same way.Love`em all,but the Buick 8 would have to be the one for me.I loves me some fat fender.

Since no one has mentioned it,nice pictures.

Back to Dalton...That gold`68 is perfection in my eyes.If trucks were food that thing would be a hamburger and the red GMC would be a banquet.I`ll take the burger.(guess I`m losing my appetite)

Re: Saturday pics (6-13) A couple trucks and a buncha stuff that made me smile!

in the netherlands you would NEVER find sumtin even remotely simulair .
not only would the enviroment police shut the yard down and town the cars away to be demolished but during the war every car unless they where hidden realy good got inpounded for the metals needed to build tanks and stuff .
that and the fact that the country is so wet that everything that age that isnt parked indoors is rusted away .

there still some cars to be found in france and spain and some stil verry nicely maintained cars come out of switserland

Re: Saturday pics (6-13) A couple trucks and a buncha stuff that made me smile!

Thank guys! This wasn't a junkyard...It all belongs to one guy. Most of them are either running "projects" or parts cars that were just to cheap not to bring home. He walked me around the place and told me what everything was and priced a handful of them to me. Pretty much everything he had that I kinda liked had already been sold or traded off (or was just way more of a project then I'm up for)...he was just waiting on em to leave. He had about six other cars that were inside of a couple of the buildings that he showed me as well. He thought patch panels cost to much so he's bought a shear and a brake and he's building his own. The old guy really seemed to enjoy showing me all the old cars...told me to come back anytime!... Only took me about an hour to go home and eat supper and come back with my camera! The funny thing is that I've been driving within a couple hundred yards of this place for years and never knew it was there.

The row of 57s were bought all at once from another guy that had purchased a home that had them sitting on the property. He said that people are always asking for parts off of them but he wont sell any of the parts. He'll sell entire cars, but no parts.

Asa,

I may have to get those directions from you. My Uncle is looking for a 55 Chevy post 2-door.

Also, my blue LWB obsession continues. I talked to the misses and she is opening up to the idea of buying that one. These things are like crack.

Re: Saturday pics (6-13) A couple trucks and a buncha stuff that made me smile!

He didn't have any 55 chevys at all. There were two 56s and about fifteen 57s.

But he did tell me to come back anytime. Said that he' always buying sellin and swappin!

Looks like an old guy who just loves old rides and has enough time, money and space to have collected a few projects.Glad some are for sale since it would be a shame to hear"I'm gonna fix it up someday"
