Sun and lake time this weekend! And a lot of sun, did I say that yet. I think they make something to help that too. Hope to start cleaning the blazer up this week for the last big show of the year and the big last one for the blazer too. Have to put it up after this year and start on a new one.

you sound like me now So, what did you come up with? or are you still smokin' on it?

All I got done today was playing football pass, and a little soccer practice with my kids. I was a Dad today.

Recoverin from surgery, so I didn't get a whole lot done. I did attend a local car show Friday night with a friend, that was fun. Caught "The Hangover" Saturday night with my wife, that was a funny movie! Sunday, hung out with the family, we had our daughter run thru the sprinkler for the very first time...she loved it!

Re: 6/14/2009 What did you get done thread

I took the gf out to eat for her birthday on Friday. Yesterday we spent the afternoon getting more stuff for our baby, who is due Aug. 10th. (It doesn't seem like baby shopping ever ends, )
Today was my Grandpa's 80th birthday, took my truck over so he could see what all I have done to it. He was building cars before people had really coined the term "Hot Rod" so he is always full of cool information. We talked a little about my desire to build an old rat rod style car from the 40's or 50's. Turns out he still has some old performance parts for flathead fords from sometime in the late 40's to mid 50's. He said he will try and find them in the basement and give them to me. Can't wait to see what he digs out. Although he is a bit of a procrastinator, so it could be awhile. My uncle heard this, and he wants them now too.

Re: What did you get done thread 6/14/2009

I finished painting the chassis saver on the front of my '85 frame so now the bare frame should be about done. Next it's on to the front control arms and crossmember getting blasted and powdercoated.

Then Sunday had a little photoshoot with some friends' street rods. The '46 chevy we built in about 5 days. We went from roller on stock suspension to mustang II front suspension and leafs/camaro rear end. It has a tired old 305 and 700r4 for now, it was a lot of work and just in time for back to the fifties in the twin cities next weekend. Here are just a few of what I took....

I did plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I don't think they have been changed in over 10 years. Found 04/1995 had written on the cap!

I roofed my parts shed, was almost done when the lightning started. Got to let it dry out for a day then put the last dozen shingles on. Did some gardening. Moved a few parts around in the garage.

Next weekend is aready shot - going to visit the family. Man I hate that!

Re: What did you get done thread 6/14/2009

I laid down the final coat of primer before color on a 79 Trans Am I am building. It was rusty, very rusty in some spots. Its a budget build and so far I have less than $300 invested in making the body sound and look decent again.

Here is how it looked prior to the next to last blocking. Should have color tomorrow or Wed at the latest.

Eventually this year I will do something with the 76, decided not to sell it since I like it better than the other trucks I have.

A friend and I started on shortening a long bed into a short bed. We got the back 5-3/4" cut out of it and lined up. We are now ready to get it takced together. Then on to the front. Will have pictures soon.

Re: What did you get done thread 6/14/2009

Well started off the weekend with yard work. Work on my DD puting in a Flip Kit in the rear and trying to figure out why the e-brake does not work correctly. Welded in a home made C notch all the while cuss'n my welding machine. Finial got if fixed and finished up the welding at 10 pm last night.

Also, cleaned out and organized the garage with my wife, I can almost get both cars in there...just need to get rid of the kids riding toys and bikes...they might not like that though...

Saturday- went to Modesto Grafitti to support Arc Audio and their crew. Had a good time catching up with all of them.

Sunday- Went to the Hot Rod Reunion at the Woodland Fairgrounds and walked around. Caught up with my buddy Charlie Lillard who just got back that morning from the Hot Rod Power Tour. He brought out "El Mule" to show.

Today I finished replacing my fuel system in the truck minus the tanks and carb. Lines, pump, valves and filters are all new now.

That's simple, tell him to just say "Yes dear" and write the check. Oh, also let him know his wedding band goes in his nose the first 3 years.

Re: What did you get done thread 6/14/2009

I had an emotional day saturday. My brother and I watched over the first of 2 estate auctions to clear out our parents house. Dad passed away 5 years ago, Mom passed in April. The one thing that helped us was knowing Mom told us to auction whatever we didn't want when she was gone.

We shook our heads at what people would pay for stuff we thought was "junk". The "good" stuff will be going up for bid in 2 weeks.

Sunday I messed around in the garage on small projects.
