Please help finding a few parts
Theres a few parts that i am having a hard time locating. Seems theres a lot of 68 specific parts that don't interchange between other models and no one has been able to help me find the, Ive ordered in a few items at the local parts store and they always send me the wrong stuff. Specifically I am looking for the following items
1. A speedometer cable for a 68 3/4 ton 396 2 wheel drive with the NP435 CLOSE RATIO 4.56 first gear 4 speed transmission . 2. A shifter boot for the same transmission. Its the 6 hole rectangular base boot. I cant find one to save my life . 3. The trim that wraps around the front of the fender and meets up with the hood for a 68 or for that matter an entire trim set. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike

It looks like GMC Paul has all the stuff you'll need. Not positive on the speedo cable. He has 63" and 83" versions.

I wish he did. That shifter boot is turning out to be harder than i thought posssible. Everyone has the round shift bot but its not high enough for the close ratio tower. Are close ratio new process 4 speeds rare or something? I went to the junkyard and climbed through 20 or so manual transmission 67-72's and coulndt find a single close ratio tranny. The boot looks like this
