Where can I get power steering hoses?

I have a 66 GMC with factory PS. For some reason, I can't seem to find any power steering hoses that will fit. I can't seem to have them made locally either. Does anyone sell the original factory style hoses that run from the pump to the hydraulic ram (not the box)? truckandcarshop.com sells the hydraulic ram, valve, pump and seal kits for my truck just not the hoses. Help....

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

My friend here in Phoenix, Arizona has a shop that will make any hoses or tubes you need if you have a sample he can make it for you. He does great work at a reasonable price. Here is his information his name is Hal and the shop is Arizona Tubes& Hoses phone # is 602-253-4507.

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

Thanks for the quick reply. I might have to do that if I can't find the correct ones. The high pressure hose has a brake fitting on one end and a typical hydraulic fitting on the other. That seemed to really throw the guy at the hose making place I visited.

Just so we're clear, the pressure hose from the pump should go to the valve that the pitman arm is attached to. Then there are steel and rubber lines that run from the valve to the ram.

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

You're right, I over simplified it. There are two pairs of hoses. I need the hoses that go from the pump to the valve. The other set would be nice also.

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

So do you have the old hoses? If so any good hydraulic/hose shop should be able to make up your hoses if you can't find them ready made. I assume you've tried the the truck parts suppliers?

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

I've checked every vintage truck part supplier I can find. It's downright crazy I tell you..... I can buy a reman pump, hydraulic ram assembly and pitman arm valve thingy, but not the hoses; not any of them (there are 4). I guess I'm going to have to take it all off, put it in the attic and convert it the way everyone else does since those hoses and custom bracket/adapters are easy to come by. I'll check with some other hydraulic shops and see what I can come up with.

Re: Where can I get power steering hoses?

If you can find a place that is called tubes and hoses they can make any thing just about. They are a francise that your local hyd shops buy into. Also check with some of the corvette sites they used a very simular or same setup.
