Post sell or not?

a guy just stopped and asked about my blue truck (read http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ub...ML/023690.html for details) and im not sure if i want to get rid of blue or not....he was my first truck, but i dont have the money to fix blue and the 4x4 and the 72...he offered to buy it, or trade his 64 chevy daily driver with 350 and auto...what should i do?

I think this is only a question you can answer for yourself, but how many guys do you hear saying "Boy, I wish I would have never sold that thing!"

Don't rely on us to tell you whether to sell him or not. Figure out what your priorities are and go from there. Also, if you aren't going to be able to keep him in good shape or find the time for him, maybe it's time for him to go to someone who can.

What's it worth and what's he offering. If it is a good deal for you, it might be worth it. Don't do this stranger any favors and give him a good deal. You may not have time/money to fix it up right now, but if the deal isn't right, maybe you'll fix it up sometime down the road.

first priority, is get the 4x4 on the road.. then either blue or the 72, not sure.. i do have one i wouldnt mind getting rid of but its not excactly complete, 70 shortbed 1/2 ton.. needs doors, motor, tranny, and front clip.. i might see if he wants to buy it. it was the parts truck for the 4x4.

1971Stepside-he was one of those guys too, lol.. he said he just sold his 71 yesterday and wished he had keep it.

If you really care about the truck, then don't go on just how much money he'll give you, go on how you think he'll treat it. If I was in your situation, I'd rather get a few hundred bucks less and sell the truck to someone who'll take good care of him then get more money and sell it to someone who will completely destroy it.

since you've already used it as a parts truck, it's future is pretty much gone. Why was wrong with it to make you use it as a parts truck?

You could also look at it like this, you could get some of the little things you need for the 4X4 off of blue, but the crappy parts from the 4X4 on it, then sell it. It does have a crappy 305 in it. Then, you'll have one of the '60 - 66, 2 '67 - 72, and a '73 - 87.
I think I would be thinkin bout it real hard.
Although, I do also wish I had my first car....'68 Cougar.
