Cool Rims or White Walls?

While getting ready for the Brothers Truck Show, I was wondering if a small change would be nice?

Rims?

White Walls?

Decisions...Decisions.

Re: Rims or White Walls?

I hate white walls. But yeah, leave those on that truck and put those 20's on that '68 behind this truck!

... How about some pics of that '68?

Seriously, either looks good on that truck. I think it helps that the truck looks pretty much bone stock and has plenty of white paint already on it. The whitewalls and stock hubcaps (nice!) help keep the overall theme flowing.

I like the whites and caps. It would be hard to make that truck look bad.

White walls on one side and rims on the other....and you get the best of both worlds!

Re: Rims or White Walls?

I don't know what it is about white walls but I don't care for them on trucks. It seems that they belong on tuna boats. Those rims look bad a$$. Where they photoshop'd on?

Oh Yeah.....that is a REALLY nice and clean truck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Rims or White Walls?

Damn...this is the first year I might miss Brothers show, gotta work! I am going to try to see if i can get someone to swap shifts with me. Rene, I met your brother Rudy last year, and saw the green/white 2-tone you owned previously. I would love to see some of your other rides, and those restored license plates you got!

Oh yeah...roll with the hubcaps/whitewalls. There will be a ton of other rides with aftermarket rims, make yours stand out!!!!

Re: Rims or White Walls?

You don't see those wide white stripes much anymore. You usually get either wide white walls, or thin white stripes. I used to have some like yours on my '54 Mercury. I love the retro look over the new rims. Go with the whites and caps!!!

I woud go with the rims. If you want the hot rod go with the rims, if you want the more original look go with the white walls.

Re: Rims or White Walls?

I think both look great but I would say the Rims look just a hair better than the white walls. What if you had the spokes on the rims painted to match your awesome truck ? Either white or ochre ?

Re: Rims or White Walls?

Haven't seen this suggestion....put the rims on the back, and whitewalls/caps on the front....

Seriously, I like the look with the whitewalls. Would it be something I would do? Probably not, but you have the stuff and don't have to go buy the stuff like I would.

Re: Rims or White Walls?

Since you stole my whitewall idea,I say rims!(j/k) Show those closed minds how to turn their heads around.Damn I`m slow.I wanted to be first. Everyone will have rims and you don`t see the stocker look with stance. That`s just too damn cool! "Hey look. That old man is still a hot rodder".

Re: Rims or White Walls?

Hey I remember those trucks from Classic truck mag. Awesome trucks. Great ambassadors to our hobby. I think you need 17' Cragar SS with red line tires. Seems like a no brainer to me. But I am an artist so what do I know.
