Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em
I tried to get my truck aligned a few days ago and it looks like I have a bunch of mismatched tie rod ends in there and my center link is bent.
Im running 73 + suspension on my 69. Im looking for the best deal for this stuff. Any ideas?

Have you tried you local auto parts stores yet.
Here in Missouri O'Reilly's is able to get a lot of the steering parts. One of the vendors on this forum should be able to help you, hopefully one will chime in shortly. Danny

There is no need to replace a center link unless it is bent. It's a non wear item. It's just a long bar with 4 holes in it. Nothing to wear out.

Rock Auto has great prices and fast shipping. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
Also, on a budget, Advance Auto or Auto Zone.......... That center link can be had any any junk yard. Trucks from 73 to 87 will fit.

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em
Yeah thats the basic service grade part. Do you want a quality part on your truck or the cheapest crap you can get. I still have memories of my buddy who killed an entire family when his restored Mercedes front end suspension fell apart and he hit them head on. When it comes to suspension parts its kind of important. They will work but how long are they going to last? If you notice the quality ones spicer/Raybestos make are $17.00 each

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em
I figured that it was an equal quality to OEM. What does service grade part mean anyways? I figured if Raybestos and Spicer made it, it was quality equipment. I may have to cancel my order now.

document J1367_198109 for tie rod ends The higher priced parts will exceed the minimum standards thus higher quality. I would not say to cancel your order. Spicer and others make different grades for different applications If you think about it you can buy a tie-rod end for $6.00 and $24.00. There is a difference. |

Re: Center link and tie rod ends, gotta get em
Already canceled it. If there is that big of a difference in quality I want the better ones, especially with how hard I drive my vehicles.
so with that said, whats the best? Mogg or Ac Delco?
