1967 GMC Grille/Bumper Colour

Just painted my grille white. Going to paint the GMC letters black. The bumper is body colour (medium blue) now. What do you think about the headlight bezels (chrome or white) and the bumper (white or body colour)?

Any pictures of similar (like attached) would be great.

My 67 chev will have very little chrome!! the front grill will have the two rings and head light bezels will be chrome. Thats it, everything else will be painted.

when the headlight trim is chrome, on a painted grill, it makes it look like they came off another truck, parts replacement with the owner too lazy to paint them.
I would paint the bumper white, and the light bezals too.
Here's mine... not a 67, but similar.

The factory painted the grill, bezels, bumper and wheels Ivory for all body colors, except if the vehicle was painted (Bone White). Ivory is not as bright as Bone White and blends better with the body color.

Thanks for the replies-I did the bezels white this morning (just like what Longhorn man said, they looked weird not being white. I want the bumper white too but my wife likes the body colour. I just got all the paint and rust off now. All primered and ready for something.

We'll see when the wife gets back from shopping. I'd like to do the cab roof white too but she puts her foot down for that staying body colour. I'll work on her for the bumper!

Ok, the wife won-Body coloured bumper. She painted the letters on. Not to bad for ratttle-can work. Some pics if interested:



Those are both "After" pictures-just one didn't have the letters done but the sun was nicer.

Did you have any issues withe paint bonding to the chrome. Mine are chrome and a little rusty. I am worried that if I painted them, the paint would flake off the chrome.

Not sure if the grille was chrome. It was painted a flat silver colour. Paint is still good a year later.
