Gas mileage

95 is still a TBI . I owned three with 350's
2WD-SWB, 3.42, - 15 & 19 MPG
2WD-LWB EX cab, 3.42, 14 & 17 MPG
4WD-LWB Ex cab, 3.42, 12 & 15 MpG

DAVE
My 97 350 Vortec 2WD , Excab,3.73, 14 &17

that first SWB i had got as good as 20.5 @68MPH on turnpike but my LWB never got close to that. checked them all the time. DAVE

The '89 C1500 X-cab LWB 350/5-speed I had in college went to 180,000 miles making 15 & 18 mpg.

My '92 K1500 X-cab LWB 350/5-speed with 193,000 miles makes 12 & 15 mpg.

I have a 98 Chevy, 5.7l, stock, 4 door conversion, and can only get 13 on the highway. That's runnin the speed limit and the cruise set, put on a 2 place trailer with 2 snowmobiles and it goes to about 8-9mpg. WTF????

I had a 94 burban before this and I got 18 highway and 12-14 pulling a 4 place with 4 sleds.

I've only had this pickup for about a month and with that kind of mileage I'm already checking out the lots.

LISTEN! anyone that is getting really poor mileage from a modern truck that can HONESTLY say that he isn't leadfooting anywhere had better get their A/F ratio checked by a competent garage. . That can tell alaot of where or even wether you do have problems. an O2 sensor or bad EGr can really hose you. costs appx. $60 around here. DAVE

96 is a vortec and a different animal. much more sensitive computer in vortecs. ( OBDII ) .

I never got a trouble code on my bad EGR valve in my 92 . I did get it in my 88 when the EGR solenoid went bad though.??

Dont have a lot of miles on my recent purchase, but---------
I just bought a 91 K2500 in southern Al. and drove it to southwest Mo.----pulling a 1/2 ext. cab. 4x4 on a tow dolly.
745 miles-----11.8 mpg---------------350 cu. in., auto, 3.73 gear

The 350 didnt have the guts of a 454---------but it didnt get 8 mpg either!!
