WTB: Bed mounting pads - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

If anyone has an extra pair (or complete set) of bed mounting pads they want to sell, please let me know. Obviously I can order them but I suspect I'll pay more for shipping than for the pads if I get them from one of the vendors. I need to create just a bit more space between my bed and the spring shackles on my project and this seems a reasonable way to do it. (Discovered tonight after setting my new bed in place that the CPP shackles are just barely contacting the wood.)

Even used would be okay as long as they're in excellent condition -- not brittle, cracked, etc.

No, sorry -- just the rubber pads that go between the bed and the frame, like these:

Yeah, until you add on their mandatory $8.95 handling fee. Don't even get me started on ordering stuff from Mar-K.... (See one of the latest posts in my build thread if you want to know why I'm not happy with them.)

Good point, Mike! It was dark by the time I got everything in place last night and I haven't had time to look at it in the daylight yet. That may well be an option, much better than jacking it up even higher above the frame. Thanks!

I would go beyond 1/4 to 3/8" though. isn't the wood 3/4" thick?

Did you place a few hundred pounds on the rear of the frame before you tightened down the shackles? This will get them closer to their ride height once you have the bed and gas weighing down the rear.

With little to no weight on the back, the shackles are nearly vertical at the moment. I want to be prepared for the "worst case scenario" and the last thing I need is the shackle hitting the bed when I go over a bump or something.
