What's the tire size for a dually rear to be tucked in, on a fleetside? Don't want them hanging out too much. A little bit is ok... Ever since I saw the thread with a F/S tucked dually's I want to do it.

I think the main thing is the wheel set up and the rear end under it.

I have the rear end for it..14FF....just need the spacers......

uh spacers wont gain you anything, you need to be narrower, not wider. you need a 14bolt from a cab and chassis dually to tuck

sorry. i was just misunderstanding your need of spacers. i thought you meant to put them on back, in which case makes the dually tires stick out beyond the fenders, next time I'll be more clear.

tire size is only going to be a factor on the outer set of rear duals, you might be lucky enough for someone to just hand you a number for the tire size, but it might be trial and error. i run 235/85r16s on my dually. i know they would be too wide to tuck under a pickup bed, so by process of elimination the tires would need to be narrower than a 235 series tire. I personally would start with a 215 series tire and go from there.

Thanks! A bit clearer, perhaps I could've been a bit clearer as to say "washers" than spacers....my bad. And what is this difference between a chassis/cab 14 and a 14 FF on a fleet side? Because I originally went to a junk yard, and spotted my exact rear on a dually truck, which was a chassis/ cab dually....The drum/drum covers are exactly the same....wasn't sure how it would look until somebody posted that pic on your bed thread.....I love the single cab dually...fleet side dually even more.....

cab and chassis dually rears are narrower, the outside dual is supposed to line up with the front while on a fleetside dually, the inner dual matches up with the front. thats why you use a cab and chassis axle. but you need to widen the inside of the wheel wells in the bed to fit the inner duals
i too like the looks of single cab duallys. in a thread here somewhere there was a short step with tucked duals, now that got a double take!

hmmm. So I would need to change the entire rear end AND cut the wells to have this appearance? Because it looks like he's running some pretty thin tires here...

yeah, looks like just like you said....comparing pictures to a reg fleet side...he's got a narrower wheel base here.....

I also have a cab/chassis dually. Would like to put a fleet side box on it. Does anyone have any pics of the inside of the box?

The cab&chassis trucks don't have the same frame arrangement as a pickup. The frame is longer on a c&c (Cab to Axle is 60" vs 56" on a Pickup) so if you line the wheel wells up with the wheels you'll have 4" of extra gap between the cab and bed. Also C&C frame rails are narrower at 34" center to center so you'll have to do some mods to mount the bed.

Would be pretty cool though.
