Hey from Seattle! Just bought my first Chevy!

My first older truck was a $500 Ford that I purchased in February of this year.... Now it's sitting as a paperweight in my driveway. Wish I would have found this Chevy first!

I spent most of last night giving the paint some TLC and it's looking like alot of the grime has come off and will buff up nicely.

Happy to have found such a resourceful board with so many great looking trucks.

Welcome from sunny Kent, WA! I think I saw that one on craigslist! Congrats...it looks like a great truck with a replacement engine as well. We have a great group of locals that get together now and then to see what we have not done to our trucks...LOL! Looking forward to another will participant.

from the Corn State. Looks like a pretty nice truck. You will be surprised what a little Turtle Wax White Polishing Compound will do...

Re: Hey from Seattle! Just bought my first Chevy!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I like the sound of the truck club stllookn.

I've got quite a few friends just here in Seattle that already do that same thing! Now it's time to spend the day ripping this Ford apart so my new baby can take it's place in the driveway

I think my wife is getting tired of having all of THIS in the driveway. I just don't know why....

Re: Hey from Seattle! Just bought my first Chevy!

Yea. That's my buddy's 71 Chevelle that we're doing the interior on right now. It runs great, fully rebuilt 350, we just need to renew the tabs and finish the dang interior.

I figured I'd put them next to each other and see if I could get any half ton chevelle babies!

Re: Hey from Seattle! Just bought my first Chevy!

Welcome! I am a noob here too, but I must say that the crowd is a great one for sure, knowledgable and kind. I also got mine off of craigslist and over the past few months have got the entire interior done, now it's time to work on that leaking tranny and tired 307. Watch out, it's a pricey hobby but maybe my photos will give you some local inspiration!

From this pitted, leaky, saddle brown and green colored wonder(notice the snow - brrr):

To this water tight cab with new paint and rust stopped in it's tracks:

And the (almost)end result(need some finished photos): full gauges, stereo with amps/subs, new seatbelts, seat cover, steering wheel, dash pad, etc...

It's got a long way to go, but with some elbow grease you can make your truck look great too!!

Re: Hey from Seattle! Just bought my first Chevy!

Hey ETsC10, and thanks everyone for the very warm welcome. I spent my first few days of chevy ownership eating through gas and polishing up my old paint job. It looks almost like I applied a new coat of clear!

Yesterday, I even took it for a 200 mile road trip. I'm in love!

Don't know if you'd be able to see the line of waxed and non-waxed in this small of a pic but i thought I'd try.
