power steering fittings

I have the late model o-ring type power steering hose fitting for the high pressure hose. I want to use the factory power steering box and hoses for the 1968 year trucks. I need the old style fitting to install in my late model pump. Do any of you guys know where to find one? I have exhausted all local sources that I know of. THANKS

When we did our serpentine install, I changed the fitting on the back of the PS pump with a large cresent, installed the '67 fitting on the new style pump and used the original PS hoses. so you could reverse that, go to a junkyard etc, or possibly the parts house and ask about a replacment fitting for a '94 ps box. it will screw in the back of the '68 and you can utilize the new hose

They have fittings (inserts) to convert o-ring to flare.

What he said.
Any pump from the late 70's back, car or truck, has the right valve in it. It's 1-inch across the flats and just unscrews out of the back of the pump. Very easy to swap.

Any junkyard should have several cars or trucks you could pick one off of.

yep I did the same thing my powersteering pump is from a 2004 truck so it will work even from the 68 to the 2004 swap, just use your original hoses.

I need to do exactly what you did. I can't find an old style fitting to install in my late model pump so I can use factory hoses. Local junkyards don't have anything old enough and the parts houses give me the "deer in the headlight" look when I ask about a replacement fitting.My truck did not have power steering so I don't have the old pump to rob the fitting out of. I have a few pumps , but all of them have o-ring type fittings.
