Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I am wondering why this truck has not sold yet.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...p?product=3371

It runs and it is a v8, 4 spd.

Anyone?

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I think the economy has some to do with it. Some guys aren't looking to buy that much of a project, if that's not the style of truck they are looking for. Some trucks are not selling as fast as they used to. Don't take it personal, just not the best time to sell something quick.

The price is fair...I think there may be a few factors in play #1) the economy is flat, #2) its a C30 Dually...this isn't bad it just makes it a special truck that someone needs to be looking for, #3) it will need some work to make it usable, & #4) as said the price seems fair to me. JMHO Good Luck with the sale of your truck.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I think the price may be a tad high given that it has some rust and no bed of any kind. It's not hard to find good rust free C10s and C20s with a bed here in the Southwest for that price.

Everything is sitting, nobody want's to spend their money. I would pick it up if 1) did not already have a 71 dually project, and 2) Live 15 hours away. Not a bad price, just a bad time.

Show them to us.

No offense....well maybe a little...but I have serious doubts about finding rust free trucks that run/drive with beds for $1000.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I agree, seems like a real good price. I'm sure has alot to do with economy. Where else are you listing it? Craigslist? Thought about ebay?

I know you are short on time.

If it were me, and I was trying to sell it, I would do the following:

Paint the wheels, either white or gray. Amazing what a difference in appearance it can make.

Get the flat bed at least sitting on it.

Pull the the bumper guard, throw it in with the deal or sell sep, but pull it.

Throw a cover on the seat.

IMHO!

I think these thing swill help with it's appeal.

Like I said, I think it's a good deal now. If I wasn't 4 projects deep already I'd consider it!

Good luck

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

Yea I bought a seat cover last week and I have a steel flat bed that I just need to go get. It is a shame the truck runs so good I hate to let it go to waste. Thanks for the input.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I would love to find/buy a decent cab/truck w/o an engine/transmission. My chassis is done (needs paint) and the rest of the sheet metal is good. My cab is shot. I know, I've griped about it before. I just want to get on with the process and this is a stopper. For $1G, I'd be game for the right body. Like I said, I don't need the drivetrain.....

Sounds like a pity party, huh?

I will take all the rust free trucks you can find, prefer shortbeds, will give an extra hundred for Big Block. We can store them at our 20 Acre ranch in Escandido, Next to Lake Wolford.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

Cali guys are spoiled, plain and simple.
They don't realize that this is considered a clean truck in most of the US (rust wise)
The main thing that poster isn't considering... someone who is in the market for a $1000 truck, can't afford to ship something cross country.

Location, Location, Location unfortunately is the key to vehicles you may have a screaming deal but be in the wrong part of the country for most lookers to want to haul it back. Not all of us are as brave as Andy and will drive one cross country for the fun of it. I had a heck of a time getting one that was two hrs away because it was barely a roller and didn't have a truck to haul it. Keep positive it will move to the right buyer given time.

Yeah right!;rolleyes:.Running with a rebuilt motor?Besides, this isn`t a C/10 or C/20 and there`s no such thing as a pickup bed for these.More like a zillion possibilities. That`s a great truck for the price. We are in a DEEP recession.that`s the whole problem right there.I`m not getting my`71 C/30 sold either and it`s well worth the asking price.I`ve considered pulling the tow body just so people can realize the truck has countless possibilities. We gawk and rave at a well done dually pickup conversion.I`ve had alot of interest from alot of people.None have asked me if I`d take less.I`ve had it almost sold a few times, but something more vital always came up to take the money.Things are tight. That`s all there is to it.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I agree with everyone else. The price IMHO is spot on, especially with a rebuilt engine. things are just very tight right now. I've got a vehicle for sale that I thought would sell pretty quick, but no one is buying project vehicles.

Mine isn't too far from being a daily driver either, but because there is still work to be done, people are leary about it. My suggestion, which is what I plan on doing now, is to store it someplace. I'll get to it later, and once I have the extra to put into it, and the economy turns around, it should sell. Good luck though, and thank you for your service. We do appreciate it very much

Well, if it makes you feel better, i saw your ad on CL and forwarded it to my cousin, who's looking for a dually to fix up (he lives north of you, in Alvarado). I didn't know you were a member... maybe he'll give you a call?? Good luck.

One tons are hard to move and NO ONE is spending money at the moment unless it is a great deal and a specialty vehicle.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

Roll your eyes and doubt me all you want but I have been scanning Ebay and Craigslist here in Southern California almost everyday for the past several years and there are plenty of longbed c10s and c20s as I mentioned for around $1,000 if you watch for them. Of course, no shortbeds or big blocks and I never claimed such. I purchased my 68 C10 longbed in Orange County for $1,500 from Ebay 3 years ago (when the economy was better) and it is 100% rust free, almost no body damage and runs great with a decent bed, decent tailgate, working factory tach, untorn seat and factory 6 lug ralley rims. The ony problem with it was a bad thermostatic choke, which made it hard to start, a mushy brake pedal and old tires. I pushed the choke plate all the way shut and it started right up and ran great. Bench bled the master cylinder and a bunch of air came out. In this bad economy, you have to drop your price or wait it out. If it won't sell, then clearly the price is too high for this market at this time. Also, as 72freak noted, a one ton is harder to sell in general. No disrespect was intended, just trying to help explain why it won't sell now, which is what you asked of us. You may love one tons, but most do not. Of course, if a one ton lover comes along, it will surely sell since yours is a solid truck. However, truthfully how many people are into these bigger trucks. Most dream of a C10 shortbed with a big block and factory tach, tilt, buddy seats, etc. If everyone on this forum is this sensitive and unwelcoming of different opinions, then I will leave you all alone. My apologies. No harm, no foul.

mclairmo... my comments were not ment to offend you. I ususally tell people to look out there in your neighborhood to buy old stuff, instead of the bondo's up crap here.
But that is still considered anywhere between decent to WOW depending on where you are standing... once east of the desert.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?

I'm not offended. I just don't understand the hostile tone of some of the posters here. I was just trying to help out and possibly introduce another explanation for the slow sale of the truck in question. Woodman13 is in Texas and I assume many, if not most, of their old cars/trucks are also rust free, as they are here in Southern California. I am (as are all other car afficionados) spoiled here in Southern California due to the large number of rust free cars and trucks here. If I see rust on a vehicle, I don't even bother to look any further. It's just not worth it to me even though I know how to fix it. The amount of time spent to remove the cancer and weld in new metal is enormous. It's dirty and backbreaking work and no fun at all. My 67 Camaro was purchased by me in 1991 with zero rust for only $2,200 with a running and driving 396 big block and TH400 in it. I drove the thing home with no problems. I understand that those in other states have to contend with rust and that Woodman13's truck may be a decent (or even good) deal at $1,000 for someone in the rustbelt. However, do they have to put up with rust in Texas? Not sure. I assume not.
