Re: carb spacers
I have ran a spacer on just about everthing I own. When you say more air though......at 6,000 ft, you can't put more oxygen in the air than there is. This is what you need. I have always ran a 4 hole spacer on most of my trucks. It has been dyno proven to create more low-end torque. I watched an episode on Horsepower TV where they got an extra 16hp from a spacer. That has to be the single greatest HP to dollar gain there is.
I think where they help us the most is with most of our stock type/dual plane manifolds. It can keep the carb a little cooler but mostly it give the fuel just a little bit more time to mix with the air for a more effecient air/fuel mixture. Just make sure and run a 4 hole. The open spacers are usually for the track and won't work as well with a dual plane intake. I like the black plastic and phelonic types. |

Re: carb spacers
its not a yes or no question. \That same spacer that gave 16 HP improvement, may only rob hood clearance on our engine combo.
Car craft did a huge thing 2 years ago or so, and they had like 12 spacers, and 3 engines. It was amazing info, it proved that this is a tuning tool. |
