Re: Oil gauge ?

if you are talking about the stock guage, then no. There's no sending unit at all, just a tube filled with oil.

Re: Oil gauge ?

I went from an oil light to full gauges. With the oil light you have a sending unit but with full gauges there is no sender, just a tube from the back of the block/intake that runs to the back of the gauge - which reads the pressure in the tube - no sender needed.

Yes there is, you need an 80lb oil pressure gauge. The stock gauge is only rated @60 lbs and I am sure that 383 is pushing more pressure than that especially when cold. I have a couple 80 lb gauges and will post a pic, but they are not being reproduced and kinda hard to find unless you know the right person

The one in the middle is the only nice one I have right now and it is $45 plus shipping if you are intersted.

Re: Oil gauge ?

Thats what I had to do when I put the Big Block in it. Find or Buy the 80lb gage and your good to go.

Re: Oil gauge ?

Man I just bought 2 new ones. I guess they are both 60lbs. Have to check when I get home.
Byrd would ya trade 2 new ones plus all my other cluster parts I have for the 80lbs gauge? Plus shipping of course.
