Power to manual steering

Do I have to change the pitman arm and rag joint for this swap?

Re: Power to manual steering

Not sure on the have to part of the question but I acquired one at the salvage yard from a non powered truck and the guy said I needed to take the arm and joint that was with it. Personally, the swap was a bad move for me. Even tho it cleaned the front of the engine some, I forgot how much work it can be as far as maneuvering certain everyday obstacles. Guess I'm just getting too old and lazy. Two months later the power unit was put back in.

Re: Power to manual steering

I would make provisions to route around the pump. It will be WELL worth it. The manual gearbox is fine with a 6 cyl going down the highway but if you really intend to enjoy it, keep the power setup..
