Quick Bondo question..
Hello all, quick ? For you. I am fixing a little dent in my blazer and am new to this whole bondo thing. On my first pass I put too much Hardner in and it dried up waay too quick. On my second pass I put barley any In and it's been almost two days and it's still not dry!
so what should I do, file it all of or give it a couple more days. Will it harden eventually? Thanks for the help. |

Re: Quick Bondo question..
Remove it and start over. Properly mixed filler should not take "days".

Ditto! Play around with your mixture on something else till you get it right. I play around with bondo almost everyday at work, and it's not that hard with a little practice!

Re: Quick Bondo question..
your almost there. You know how many drops of hardner it took to setup too quickly and how many drops of hardner you used and it won't set. Now use drops of hardner somewhere in the middle bt. those two. Also, keep in mind outside temp will affect hardening time. In colder Winter mos. you may need to add a couple drops and in the summer heat you will need to use a couple of drops less. Read the instruction on the can, I believe those are at optimum temps, ie. propably 68 or 72 degrees air temp.
Good luck, it's just a matter of trial and error til you get it right. Ask me how I know. ![]()

Re: Quick Bondo question..
I hope for comfort's sake it's indoors. Didn't it reach 110 in Phoenix yesterday?
Oh I forgot too, we love pictures. Last edited by tdkosta; 06-30-2009 at 09:31 AM. |
