Not cool dude!!!
I just got in my blazer this afternoon after work because it might have to become my daily driver sooner than I had anticipated. My 2000 Camaro is in the shop and I don't have the cash to fix it if the transmission needs to be overhauled. Anyways I got clearing some of the boat toys that I had stored in the back and this is what I discover.
Some lowlife stole my front and rear chrome carpet strips, the rear back panel chrome strips, and the upper tailgate trim. I know the people on this forum are great. It just hurts to know that these were most likely stolen by someone familiar with the 69-72 blazer because there are lots of other goodies to choose from in my garage that could fetch a quicker and easier buck. Now I have to somehow locate these hard to find items and hope I have the funds to pay for them when I somehow find them. Not cool to steal from a classic - cursed be the jerk that did it. The scumbag doesn't deserve to drive a classic blazer. |

Re: Not cool dude!!!
Wow, those are pretty specific items. It had to be someone restoring a Blazer.
It might be a good item for one of the vendors to reproduce.

I'm surprised no one has made the carpet strips yet.

Re: Not cool dude!!!
That's what I thought, the (inappropriate term) knew exactly what to go after. I had the front carpet trim laying behind the front seats, so the jerk had to go up there and take it also. The rear strip was laying across the back with the tailgate closed. The tailgate trim was next to my toolbox. None of my tools are missing nor my 40 gallon air compressor.
What kind of pride is there to drive around a restored vehicle with parts one has to steal in order to obtain? - I don't get it. |

Re: Not cool dude!!!
I hope you get some good luck. The best would be for word to get around to you who this lower than a snake belly in a wagon wheel rut s.o.b. is.I have a Blazer sitting up at my family home place in the mountains, not visible from the road.I`ve had one l/o hub, dash, and gas caps picked off of it.Yes,I said gas caps.It had dual Desert Dynamics auxilary tanks and some scum bag ruined them for a couple old gas caps.It was prolly a deer poacher that wasn`t content with only trespassing and taking deer off our farm.Makes me want to load for human!
I feel your pain.

Re: Not cool dude!!!
I think we should have all of the Arizona board members provide an alibi for the time that the parts in question were stolen. I'm just kidding of course!
I get suspicious anytime someone I don't know starts poking around (staking out) my Blazer in my driveway or parking lot. There are so many of these 67-72 trucks out here that I know that some guys are looking for what they can take and use on their own trucks. That is why I keep it in my garage as much as I can. I came out of the Home Depot once and spotted some punk ducking his head (deeply) into my Blazer like he was really intersted in something. I just stood back and waited for him to reach for something. If he did, I was going to run up and break the piece of 4" schedule 40 PVC I had in my hand over his head. He never did, so I walked up and asked him if it was his Blazer. He said no, as I got into it and started it up. |

Re: Not cool dude!!!
Sucks man. Someone hit my '68 Firebird (restored by me) with a shopping cart. On one hand I know shouldn't have driven it to the store. But my dad never rode in it and was leaving town AND it finally stopped raining AND it was 11pm AND we were just about the ONLY car there AND I still parked furthest from the store! Came out and it was like my car and the shopping cart against it alone in the parking lot. It was dented good enough to not be an "accident". Some people just don't get it, I guess.
Didn't want to hijack, just feel your pain. Sounds like someone knew they were there, and what they were looking for. Oh, and my dad heard some words he probably didn't need to hear from me as I sent the shopping cart into/over the curb into the retention pond... ![]() I felt a little better. |

Re: Not cool dude!!!
I've got one german shepherd. She's a great dog now that she's out of the wild puppy stage.
The main problem was leaving the garage door open. I wish I had a nice garage setup like they used to make houses, located on the side near the back, but I've got a cookie cutter home with the garage right in front of everything a few steps away from the sidewalk. |
